Kona Diary with Daniel Bækkegård - The Undefeated
Daniel Bækkegård is arguably the only undefeated Ironman athlete to compete in the Ironman World Championship. The Dane won his only Ironman title to date at Ironman Klagenfurt and is also the youngest Ironman winner of all time. He traveled to Hawaii brimming with confidence. The former swimmer already made a strong statement in Kona, exiting the water in the leading group around Alistair Brownlee during the Koala Swim. Even though the 23-year-old is still relatively unknown internationally, we predict: Daniel will be at the front on Saturday!

Relaxed: Daniel Bækkegård appears relaxed just days before the race. The hustle and bustle on Ali'i Drive doesn't faze the Kona rookie.

Even though the Dane's strength lies in the water, his running abilities are tremendous. The 23-year-old will be a force to be reckoned with in the final marathon.
