Thirteen days after the launch of INCYLENCE, Daniela Sämmler celebrated the biggest success of her career to date, winning Challenge Roth 2018 with a new German long-distance record. In a race of the century, Danni overtook Briton Lucy Charles, fighting until the very last meter and crossing the finish line nine seconds ahead of Charles in the triathlon mecca of Roth. Her time of 8:43:42 secured Danni a permanent place in the history books.
The pictures taken shortly after the finish line went around the world. Both athletes were on the ground, yet on top of the world! And we, a two-week-old cycling and running sock start-up from Hamburg, were right in the middle of it. A small, but for us incredibly significant part of Danni's sensational success!

During the product development of the first INCYLENCE collection, she was already advising us in the spring. A favor for a friend. Four days before Challenge Roth, Danni held the socks in her size for the first time, tested them once the day before the big showdown, and placed her trust in us on July 1, 2018. A huge honor for us and confirmation that the connection between us is something special.

From the initial idea to the prototype that secured Danni's qualification for the 2019 IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii, to the final design of the "Danni sock," a lot has happened. Forty-five different designs with various elements, color palettes, and styles were developed through close collaboration, discussed, discarded, and refined. In our next blog post, we'd like to take you along on this journey, explaining the meaning behind the elements on the sock and the considerations we took into account.
